My Book story
I was born in Germany and now live in Hamburg, NY, where I often heard German words sprinkled into conversations at family and friends’ gatherings. What struck me was that many of them didn’t even realize these words were German, and sometimes I didn’t either! These moments often led to laughter, funny misunderstandings, and plenty of curiosity. Out of this, I began creating a list—one that eventually grew into this book.

From everyday expressions to quirky cultural twists, I blend language insights, history, and personal anecdotes with fun facts and games. This book isn’t a dictionary—it’s a cultural adventure filled with humor, discovery, and a fresh look at how words travel across borders and into our daily lives.
